- My Name is Mel I'm new to this blogging thing so bear with me. I'm hoping to have something funny and interesting to say and then make enough money to quit my job and eat bon bons all day. I've been married to my husband for 10 years and we have a 6 year old son named Gabe. I'm a nursing student and can't wait to jump into the nursing world with both feet! In August of 2011 I decided to make a health change and started working out and eating better. I lost almost 80lbs, and it's been hard with some up and downs but I know that I'm always a work in progress and sticking with it for life is what is important even if the scale isn't always where I want it to be.
